Ballard team and Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) were mobilized to Asia for a time sensitive inspection of a critical pipeline serving the city of Hong Kong. Once on scene, the ROV was deployed fro a shore based access point. The 800mm diameter access shaft accessibility coupled with our 2000m tether made the Ballard vLBV the right choice for this demanding high profile project. Utilizing sonar our pilot flew the unit through the pipe, inspecting it for out of round conditions, sediment buildup as well as inspection of all joints. Both video and HD cameras complimented the recorded sonar images allowing the client to obtain the quality end product they desired.
Specialized ROV vehicle assisted tooling was on hand for minor repairs encountered during the project.
