The Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel (OCIT) broke ground on November 6, 2015. This is the largest project under the Akron Waterways Renewed! program. The tunnel will be 27 feet in diameter, span a distance of 6,240 feet, and will be able to hold 25 million gallons of storm water and sewage.
Ballard’s Hyperbaric Services Division is supporting Kenny Construction Co. and Tokyo-based Obayashi Corp. on the project with a comprehensive plan with compressed air interventions as called for during the project duration.
