Ballard Marine Construction performed both above and underwater construction activities for the United States Army Corp of engineers, to demolish the existing concrete structures with diamond wire cutting techniques. Core drilling and the utilization of hydraulic hand tools were also utilized. The construction of a new fish diversion wall was also part of the work scope that included additional demolition, underwater rebar placement as well as forming and tremie concrete placement. The new wall was approximately 193ft (59ft) in length by 20ft (6m) wide and approximately 40 ft (12m) tall. Project duration was in excess of four months. Over 600 dives were completed as part of this project with no lost time accidents.
